1st Terminal Examinations  - The first terminal examinations at Tibetan Homes School in Mussoorie began from May 25th and concluded on the 30th of May. 

Board Grade X & XII results announced - The 18th Graduation day for Tibetan Homes School was held on April 2. A total of 90 students graduated School. The General Secretary and staff members congratulated the students during a formal function with a tea party. Our student fared quite well and below is the pass percentage of the two Schools.

Sports Workshop  - A ten days workshop on SPORT titled "Workshop on Sport development and coaching, sport psychology and physiology" for teachers of Tibetan Homes School in Mussoorie began on June 16, 2009. Liverpool Hope University, England with financial assistance from SOS UK successfully conducted the workshop. The Liverpool team consisted of Dr. Joel Roekwood and Dr. Kat Halloway and Mr. Simon Kawyez with four student teachers. A total of 25 staff members from junior, middle and senior school participated in the workshop.

Hope One World Workshop - In July two workshops one titled "Raising achievement in Mathematics" and second titled "Early years Education" for the teachers of Mussoorie and Rajpur was organized accordingly. The workshops were conducted by the Hope One World, Liverpool. UK. Professor Mary Stevenson, Mr. John Sharrock with four student teachers in Mussoorie and Mrs. Babs Anderson, Mrs. Pat Cameron with two student teachers at Rajpur conducted the workshops. Both the workshops were very successful and hopefully the benefits of the same will be seen in the teaching of the teachers at the School. A total of 28 teachers participated in the two workshops.

Summer Vacations ( June 1st to 10th )  - The ten days summer vacation had been of a lot of fun for the children in Mussoorie. This year the rain did not play spoilsport and arrived late. Children enjoyed and relaxed during these holidays with picnics to the municipal garden and continuous visit to the town's most popular water fall - Kempty falls. Special pocket money was also provided to the children to enjoy the holidays.

SOS Day Celebrations - On June 23rd, the 90th birth anniversary of Late Dr. Hermann Gmeiner, Founder Father of SOS was celebrated with much happiness by Children and staff members. The formal function at the auditorium began early morning with children turning up neatly in School uniforms. The program began with prayers and lighting of butter lamp to the portrait of the Founder Father. This was followed with the offering of scarves of the portrait of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and to late Dr. Hermann Gmeiner. The formal program was followed with mini games and sports. Fun games consisting of balloon bursting, passing the ball, three legged race etc. was played among the little children while for staff members and home parents tug-o-war and musical chair game was organized. Winners in the end were rewarded with prizes.

World Environment Day - On 5th June the world environment day was marked in the campus with different cleanliness and environment awareness programs by the GREEN CLUB of the School. From early morning the volunteers of the club invaded the campus, picking up paper, plastics and any other litter around the whole area.

Birthday of His Holiness The Dalai Lama - On 6th July, we celebrated the 74th birthday of H. H. the Dalai Lama with a lot of happiness and festivities. Children were given special pocket money and sweets. The day's function began early morning with all Tibetans of Mussoorie gathered at the Dalai hill raising prayer flags and burning incense. Thereafter everyone gathered at the neighboring school ground for the formal function which began with prayer and scarf offering to the portrait of H.H. the Dalai Lama. The gathering was thereon treated to some wonderful Tibetan dances by children of the two Schools and from local Tibetan people. Mr. Gendun Rinchen, Asst. General Secretary and Mr. V K Singh, Principal of Central School for Tibetans thereon addressed the gathering. The function ended with a tea reception for all elders hosted by Central School for Tibetans. In the afternoon, the Thupten Ngodup Memorial Soccer final's was played between the Tibetan Homes School and the Vocational Training Centre(VTC). After an extremely tensed game VTC were the proud winners. Later in the afternoon the School's inter house dance and music competition was held. An exceptional display by children of the different houses was showcased and every presentation of the houses was appreciated by large rounds of applause. A total of almost 250 students participated in the whole event and eventually the winning house was TRIREL.

India's Independence day - The 63rd Indian Independence day was celebrated with much happiness. The formal program began with the singing of the Indian and Tibetan national anthem. The speakers on this day brought back memories of India's struggle for freedom and highlighted the fact that work and truth conquers all. This occasion was also taken to offer scarves to all Indian staff members of Tibetan Homes Foundation as a gesture of appreciation for their tremendous work. The program ended with cultural performances presented by children.  

Winners - 38th Jackie Football tournament - The Tibetan Homes School football team lifted the prestigious 38th Jackie Memorial invitational football tournament at St. George's College, Mussoorie. A dream final between the defending champions St. George's College and Tibetan Homes School was played on the eve of Indian Independence day. After several attempts at the goal by both teams the score remained level even after extra time. And then it was the penalties deciding the winner. The confidence, determination and the team effort paid way to TIBETAN HOMES SCHOOL winning the penalty shoot out with the final score at 6 -5. The Jackie Memorial Soccer tournament is one of the best and most popular football events in Mussoorie where both Schools and local clubs participate. The tournament is organized by St. George's College, an all boy's residential and non residential institution founded in 1853 by the Capuchin Fathers.

2nd Terminal Examinations  - The 2nd terminal examinations for the children at Mussoorie began from August 17th and concluded on the 22nd of the same month.

Tibet Week (August 24 to 29)  - The Tibet week as always was observed at school with much excitement. This year's presentation was once again divided into class competitions: i) Grade VI - Project was titled "Losar" - Tibetan New Year, ii) Grade VII - Tibetan Handwriting, iii) Grade VIII - Agricultural tools used by farmers in Tibet, iv) Grade IX - Environment depletion in Tibet, v) Grade X and XII organized morning School assembly for the entire week on Tibetan themes and iii) Grade XI had inter section debates. The concluding day also had Tibetan dignitaries from various fields speaking on Tibet related topics. Extra Curricular Activities at School - At School a lot of activities happened during the period of which following are some of the major ones - Social science exhibition, inter house quiz in English and Tibetan, Inter house and School mathematics relay,  English elocution and the extremely popular inter house cultural competition.  

New Admissions  - In the reporting period from May to August there were 11 new children admitted under our care. The fall in the number of new admissions is a direct result of the unrest in Tibet.
