His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Chairman –THF Governing Body.

Tibetan Homes Foundation is a registered charity established by His Holiness Tenzin Gyatso The XIVth Dalai Lama of Tibet soon after his escape from His homeland Tibet in 1959.

The Foundation is based in Mussoorie, India a popular hill station in the lower Himalayas, where His Holiness The Dalai Lama first established the Tibetan Government in exile before shifting to Dharamsala.

The Foundation under the Tibetan Exile Government focuses in giving a Home away from Home to the Tibetan refugee children in exile with a Tibetan up-bringing and modern education
Mission

The mission of Tibetan Homes Foundation since from its inception in the year 1962 is:

To take care of the orphans, semi-orphans and the destitute Tibetan refugee children in exile.

To provide with the best possible means of a good education so that these children grow up as a self reliant and contributing members of our community at large.

To impart and inculcate the rich traditions, moral values and cultural heritage of Tibet to preserve and promote our Tibetan identity that faces great danger of being wiped out by the Communist Chinese in Tibet.
