Secular, Emotional, and Ethical Learning Committee

 

The SEE Learning committee at our school organized a variety of workshops and activities for teachers and students in classes 6 to 12 throughout the year. SEEL members led daily sessions focused on developing essential skills and values.


Key activities included:

  1. Compassionate Drawing: Students in classes 6 to 8 explored their artistic abilities through drawing.
  2. Poetry Writing: Students in classes 9 and 10 enhanced their creative writing skills in both English and Tibetan.
  3. Effective Writing: Classes 11 and 12 focused on developing writing skills centered on themes of kindness and interdependence, emphasizing the importance of ethical values in today’s world.
  4. Teacher Workshops: We conducted workshops to educate teachers about the SEE Learning concepts, helping them better understand social, emotional, and ethical values to enhance their teaching practices.
  5. SEE Learning Mentors: Mentors provided ongoing support and activities for students in classes 6 to 12, fostering emotional intelligence, resilience, and academic performance, which sets the stage for long-term success.
  6. Continuous Support: We maintained guidance and support for both students and teachers throughout the year.

 

This year,our school SEEL committee successfully implemented SEEL activities in school and also integrated it into daily school life. Committee members -Ven Lungrik Ngawang, Mr.TenzinChomphel, Mrs.Tenzin Nima,and Mrs Tsering Chokey remained actively involved in guiding teachers and students in SEE activities.



  1. A valuable session on “Secular Ethics” for all teachers was organised . The event provided insight exploration of secular ethics as a comprehensive and inclusive approach to ethical decision-making skills.
  2. Drawing and essay writing competition on the theme” COMPASSION IN ACTION” for middle school and “COMPASSION IS A GREATER INDICATOR OF HUMAN PROGRESS THAN TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT for senior levels was organised and executed on 29-6-24.
  3. Talk was organised on “WORLD COMPASSION DAY” on four principal commitment by Ven Lungrik Ngawang, compassion by Mrs Tsering Chokyi and SEE learning features, journing from secular ethic to SEE learning by Mrs Tenzin NIma offered informative perspectives to the attendees.

The transformative benefits of SEE Learning include:

  4. Effective communication and conflict resolution
  5. Increased self-awareness and confidence
  6. Improved relationships with peers and teachers
