Social, Emotional, and Ethical Learning
SEE - An Initiative for Educating Heart and Mind (Click to Download)
The Social Emotionaland Ethical (SEE) Learning initiative, developed by Emory University under the guidance of H.H the 14th Dalai Lama, provides a modern, standardized curriculum. Officially launched in 2015 after years of planning, the project continues to expand globally.
Today, compassion-based ethical education is increasingly seen as essential for promoting moral values, with many countries integrating it into their educational systems. In Tibet, ethical education has long been a tradition, dating back to the time of the religious kings. In Tibetan exile schools, this tradition is upheld, with secular ethics curricula being implemented according to the guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

At the Tibetan Homes School in Dekyiling, Dehradun, a special SEE Learning Committee was formed in 2019. Teachers have studied the SEE Learning handbook, SEE Companion, and completed the SEE 101 online training developed by Emory University. SEE Learning is now an integral part of the curriculum, taught from pre-primary through eighth grade.
